The Sondxwar (The Oathkeepers), known colloquially as the Lions of the Reşwan (Kardish: Şer Reşwanê), are Kardish militias fighting in the service of the House of Aidarus in the ongoing Fahrani Civil War. While nominally royalist in their political sympathies, the Sondxwar have been characterized by both allies and foreign observers as more akin to a tribal force than an ideologically motivated one. The Sondxwar were formed in early 2019 in response to the unopposed landing of royalist forces at Ras Thulin. Units of Sondxwar have regularly fought alongside elements of the Royalist Army under Prince Ra'ad, Emir of as-Saḥūl in Helarún and have played a supporting role in Erinyes Solutions' offensive in as-Souhr.
After sustaining an intense insurgency through much of 2019 and 2020, the Sondxwar, in conjunction with elements of the Royalist Army and Erinyes Solutions, won a significant victory over NURR forces in early 2021 at the Battle of Ghol Qaleh, forcing the retreat of Lieutenant General Ahmed Hazza and his 5th Army over the Ford of Hithalayn into Nimanher. Since then, the militias have been better integrated into the Royalist Army's command structure, playing a substantial role in ongoing incursions into NURR-controlled Nimanher.
