The Hayr River is a major south flowing river in Emmiria. With a length of 3,700 km (2,300 mi), it is one of the longest rivers in Adula. It originates in the Alborza Mountains in northern Emmiria and flows south into the Emmiria Sea near the Tarijar Strait. Its major tributary, the Jyari River, extends off the Hayr and runs east, dumping into the Toyana Ocean. Hayr runs through major Emmirian cities, such as the capital of Rhaga and the most populous city of Hazarabad, and is within 100 miles of more than 140 million people.
