Classifications
The Kaiserliche-Marine maintains specific classifications for its warships. Major surface combatants are classified as "Kriegsschiffe," and the list of classifications are below.
Aircraft carrier
Aircraft Carriers are any vessel capable of carrying and launching fixed-wing aircraft (minimum of 40) as its primary offensive armament.
Amphibious Asssault Ships
Amphbious Assault Ships are tasked with assisting amphibious operations, capable of carrying amphibious strike forces along with helicopter and VTOL aircraft to support operations.
Cruisers
Cruisers operate as "surface-superiorty" vessels, able to carry more armaments than destroyers in order to secure a sector in advance of main forces.
Destroyers
Destroyers are a mid-sized surface warfare vessels capable of multiple roles, generally fleet escort and patrols.
Frigate
Frigates are like small destroyers, being a small sized surface warfare vessel, tasked with smaller missions.
Corvettes
Corvettes operate as the smallest "Kriegsschiffe" classification within the Kaiserliche-Marine, often tasked with anti-aircraft and coastal defence operations.
