Oritanth, officially the Kingdom of Oritanth is an island nation situated in the far north east of the Nortuan mainland, encompassing the entirety of the island of the same name. It is a founding member and Federal Subject of the Commonwealth of Arenor. A constitutional monarchy, Oritanth has been ruled by the House of Federene for three hundred years and is the last remaining kingdom within the Arenoran Isles.
The thirteen disparate tribes of Oritanth were gradually united under the House of Eidolon and in 1098, the United Kingdom of Oritanth was established by Kadius I Eidolon. Heightened tensions with Arenland led to the beginning of the Great Arenoran Seesaw as several wars were fought during the course of 900 years. In 1746 following the end of the Third Arenland-Oritanth War and the end of the Eidolon male bloodline, the House of Federene came to power. The liberal economic and social policies of King Argan Federene saw the transformation of Oritanth from a feudal agrarian nation into a post-industrial power, threatening to displace Arenland as the dominant power over the Isles. This culminated in the Fourth Arenland-Oritanth War, paving way to Oritanth's defeat following a long and bitter war that left both nations ravaged. The Treaty of Arenkau marked the formal end of absolute rule, and a constitution was adapted to limit the King's power. Gripped with crippling social and economic issues, a faction of pro-absolutists known as the Absol Faction overthrew King Haken Federene and installed his younger brother Jaryth Federene to the throne, who dismantled the constitutional systems and violating the Treaty. The Fifth Arenland-Oritanth War ended with the final end of the Absolutists and the rise of constitutionalist and pro-federalist King Jhon Federene. The War marked the end of the Great Arenoran Seesaw and paved way to the eventual Federation of Arenor ten years later.
