Thomas Carson Smith (born 11 November 1962) is a Scalizagastian environmental scientist and politician who served as the leader of the Green Party of Scalizagasti from 2007 to 2021. He was also the leader of the opposition from 2012-2016 following the Green Party's breakthough second-place success in the 2012 Scalizagastian federal election. The Social Democratic Party of Scalizagasti formed a coalition government with the Greens after the 2016 election, and Smith was made the Minister of the Environment. He has also served as the Member of Parliament for Torlu North since 2005.
On 26 April 2021, he was removed as party leader by the Green parliamentary caucus in a 33-20 vote. Ideologically an eco-socialist, the effort to remove him was led by economic moderates and "green pragmatists" following his support of the Millard government's initiative to procure new warships for the Scalizagastian Republican Navy.
