The Flag of the Federal Republic of Zitasso. often referred to as the Zitassan Flag is the national flag of Zitasso which consists of a blue saltire defacing a white banner with four red stars. The flag has been the countries national flag since 1826, and has remained virtually unchanged.

History

Zitassan flag while an Avergnonian territory

The modern day nation of Zitasso was conquered by Avergnon in the 1600s, during it's duration as a territory of Avergnon this was it's flag.

Zitassan revolutionary flag

Upon the outbreak of the Zitassan Revolution this flag was flown by many revolutionaries.

After the war was won by Zitasso the current flag was presented to The Quadrumvirate by it's designer Marzia Mazzi, the flag was unanimously approved by the Quadrumvirate and the Consiglio to become the first official flag of the young Zitassan state.

Symbolism

The red is meant to represent the blood spilled to gain independence, the blue and white represents peace, with the white also representing the blank slate of a new nation to an extent, the four stars represent the four states and the four founding fathers of Zitasso, and the red part where the saltire meats represents the founding fathers putting aside their differences and coming together to fight for independence.
