The United Kingdom of Great Lucis and Aomori, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Lucis, is a country comprising the land of Lucis, Accordo, Tenebrae and Aomori. It is located in East Eracura. Neighboring nations include Kirisaki to the south, Zambora and Segland to the west, and the Montserrat Islands to the North.

It is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of governance. Its capital city is Insomnia, an important global city and financial centre of the Lucis Isles, and its metropolitan area is the largest in its continent. The current monarch is King Noctis Lucis Caelum and the current Prime Minister is Ignis Stupeo Scientia. The UK consists of four countries: Lucis, Erebonia, Tenebrae and Aomori. The UK has one Commonwealth realm, The Commonwealth of Austrakiba and six external islands in the Australis continent.

Etymology

Great Lucis and Aomori; officially the United Kingdom of Great Lucis and Aomori is a set of isles located east of Eracura.

The name of Lucis comes from the genitive singular form of the Latin word "lux", which means light. According to early records, the naming of Lucis came from the early Latin settlement in Lucis wherein the early settlements found it hard to see through the night so every resident lit candles in their houses. Thus, the people came to refer to the land as Lux until it was renamed to Lucis.

The name Aomori comes from the blue pines that grew on the land. The early Miranian settlers gave it the name "aoi-matsu-no-ki-mori" (forest of blue pines). It was soon shortened to its present form, Aomori.
