The Legatian Army (Legatian: Exercitum Legatium) is the land warfare component of the Armed Forces of the Legatian Republic, and is one of the six uniformed branches of the Armed Forces. The most senior of the regular branches of the Armed Forces, the Army traces its lineage back to legions of the Augustan Republic, though its direct founding was shortly following the conclusion of the Popular War in 1734. The army's mission is to conduct land warfare operations in order to protect the sovereignty and national interests of the Legatian Republic, participate in peacekeeping and deterrence operations, and to ensure the security and safety of the citizens of the Republic.
