The Republic-class battleship was a series of pre-dreadnought battleships built by the Republic of Syara from 1899-1904. Intended to supplement and later replace the older Nemaro-class battleship as part of a naval arms race with Górska. The class was rendered obsolete by the creation of the dreadnought HMS Eerika Waterly-Davion. As a result the initial order of 10 was reduced to the eight vessels that had been laid down at the time. The eight vessels became the Redemption of Sin, Clarity of Grace, By Wisdom's Words, Purity in Solidarity, Driven by Faith, Sincerity by Action, In Honest Light, and the Provider of Purpose.
The class saw extensive service in the Third Chryse War, where it faced off against other pre-dreadnought battleships fielded by the Górska Federal Navy]]. It later played a minor role in the Syaran-Ruvelkan War, mostly via coastal bombardment. The design was pressed into service for the Divide War, but against the more powerful battleships of the Cacertian Empire it was largely outclassed. By Wisdom's Words and Clarity of Grace were sunk in 1916, followed by the Provider of Purpose in 1917. Redemption of Sin and Purity in Solidarity survived the war and were originally slated to be retired in the 1920s, only to be brough back to service for the Siduri War. Both survivors were sunk during the Sundering Sea Campaign.
