General elections were held in South Kabu on 9 April 2022.

The elections were called after the 2021 South Kabuese coup d'état for the new Congress of Kabu which replaced the old People's Senate. The body was designed to be a non-partisan legislature to prevent factionalism of partisanship, the BKMI which had governed South Kabu since it's independence was thus prohibited from running in the election. Pro-reform politicians won 100 out of the 115 seats available with the 5 of the remaining seats being delegated to the various minorities of the Kabuese archipelago including Masiorans and Gowsans and other Dezevauni people. 40 seats in the new Congress of Kabu were reserved for women.

Eko Dhimas was elected as Premier unanimously by the Congress of Kabu on 20 April.
