The Senate of Carucere (Gaullican: Sénat de Caruquère, Ziba: Zenada Gajuge) is the unicamerial legislature of Carucere. Although it is technically given supreme authority under the Constitution of the Republic of Carucere, it reality it delegates most of its powers to the President of Carucere, and thus plays a secondary role in national politics.
Nevertheless the Senate has the final authority on all legislation, approves the cabinet and the Premier, and grants authorization to presidential decrees. In addition, it maintains many supervisory powers such as the power to impeach officials, dismiss the Premier and the Cabinet by a majority vote, recall the President in a constructive vote of no confidence, and to dissolve itself and call new elections. After a new legislative election, the Senate elects the President of Carucere by a simple majority vote for the legislative term. Until an election is completed, the Senate and thus the President, maintains authority in its current composition.
