The President of the Privy Council is one of several ministers of the Crown in the Cabinet of the Caldan Union who does not directly head an executive government department. The post is largely ceremonial and involves chairing the Privy Council on those occasions when the entire Council convenes. The president often exercises a certain level of operational authority over the Privy Council Office and is based in the Gordon Building. However, the PCO serves as a secretariat to the entire Cabinet and the prime minister is officially the minister responsible as the PCO is at the centre of the entire Civil Service. The post is normally given to a minister who already has another position. The current president is Anthony Hare.
