The Civil Service of the Caldan Union is the civilian workforce of the Caldan federal state and its departments, agencies, and other public bodies. The Civil Service excludes members of the military, civilian employees of the military, law enforcement officers, judges, elected officials, and the political staffs of elected officials.
While the Caldan Union has always has employed civil servants since Union, positions were originally filled through patronage and nepotism. The Civil Service Act of 1902, a core element of the Barjavel Government's slate of reforms. As of 2022, the Civil Service employs 2.
