The Man Who Ran From the Sea (Gaullican: L'homme Qui Fuit la Mer), is a science fantasy drama film written and produced by Bio Moulin. The film stars Hatse Vidimhe and Jean Jiba Dazeje as well as several voice actors who play the main character's internal thought processes. Set in large city within a fictionalized post-apocalyptic world, it follows an amnesiac government detective tasked with preventing an assassination. During the investigation, he confronts confront his past while uncovering a conspiracy within the city.
The movie premiered at the 83rd Montecara Film Festival on 24 October, 2022, beginning theatrical release across the Asterias by 3 November 2022.
Plot
The main character wakes up in a trashed hostel room with a severe hangover and no memory of his own identity. After gathering his clothes he exits his room and meets Lieutenant Zono Dubois, who informs him that they have been assigned to investigate a potential assassination plot. Despite his disheveled appearance and poor condition, in interviews he proves to be a capable and shrewd investigator. Despite few leads, but the main character deduces in the initial investigation indicates that the threat comes from a far-left extremist group and is credible.
