The StG M68, officially the Stormgevär Modell 1968, is an Acrean 6.8x43mm select-fire rifle designed by Kaalstad Vapenfabrik AB for the Acrean Armed Forces. It was designed in the 1960s as an automatic carbine to supplement the StG M51 in Acrean service, using the new lighter intermediate 6.8x43mm cartridge. Entering service in 1968, the M68 was adopted by the Royal Acrean Marine Corps who preferred the low cost and . During trials, the M68 was highly regarded for its handling and weight, being substantially lighter than most contemporary rifles. Its weight has been further reduced through modernised and improved variants.
