The StG M68, officially the Stormgevär Modell 1968, is an Acrean 6.8x43mm select-fire rifle designed by Kaalstad Vapenfabrik AB for the Acrean Armed Forces. It was designed in the 1960s in cooperation with the Royal Acrean Marine Corps as an automatic carbine to supplement the StG M51 in Acrean service, using the new lighter intermediate 6.8x43mm cartridge. The M68 was later adopted by the RAMC in 1968, after a series of military trials of various 6.8x48mm rifle designs. During trials, the M68's handling and weight were well regarded, being substantially lighter than most contemporary combat rifles.
