The Jade-class submarine is a Zamastanian nuclear-powered submarines operating in the Naval Force. Each displacing 18,750 tons submerged, the Jade-class boats are the largest submarines ever built for the Zamastanian Navy. They are among the world's largest submarines. The Jade-class carry more missiles than either: 24 Stonebar II missiles apiece. The SSBNs are part of Zamastan's nuclear-deterrent triad, along with Zamastanian Air Force strategic bombers and intercontinental ballistic missiles. The 36 SSBNs together carry about half of Zamastan's active strategic thermonuclear warheads. Although the Stonebar missiles have no preset targets when the submarines go on patrol, they can be given targets quickly, from the Central Strategic Command based in Pahl, using secure and constant radio communications links, including very low frequency systems.
