The Sage (Yen: 聖), born as Hong Yoeng (Yen: 項洋) was a Yen figure of East Catai in the 1st century BCE who founded and established the doctrines of Cotrism, a Cataian religion dominant in the Yen-influenced spheres to today. Besides authoring the Three Classics of Cotrism, he transmitted his knowledge to a number of students known as the Deitsi, who developed upon his teachings and established Cotrism's institutions later on.

Very little information about the Sage himself as a person was recorded, although contemporary documents suggest he was born in a family of some local influence. Cotrism generally practices aniconism with regards to the Sage, but this is loosely enforced and sculptures and figures intended to represent him while not actually portraying him are permitted in artistic contexts.
