The Great Wolf as he appears in the center of the coat of arms of The Empire

, flanked by the Apostle of Nobility to his right and the Apostle of Religion to his left.]]

The Great Wolf is considered to be the deity of the Imperial Faith and is seen as the creator of all life after the end of the Second Wolf Palatinate and throughout the Invasion of the Ahrah'koons throughout the Palatinate. The Great Wolf is believed to have been a mortal being that gave the rest of his life towards the continuation and renewal of the wolves into the dogs. His sacrifice allowed him to be conceived as an immortal once he died. Within the accepted scripture of the Imperial Faith, the Great Wolf replaced the faith of the wolves religion and their pantheon. The Great Wolf is also accepted to have been a corporeal person at some point, and his ascendance into godhood was only promised by his sanctification of the Seven Apostles, the original creator of the major tribes within the Empire.

The Great Wolf is considered to have been a male being when he was corporeal and as such is referred to with masculine grammatical articles and is depicted as such. The Imperial Faith originally rose closer to the late Proto-Imperial Era, close to the formation of various Unification Assembly. The first document mentioning the Great Wolf in the context of the Imperial Faith dates back to 942, a little over a century before the formation of the Unification Assembly.
