The Douar Arab massacre took place in Douar Arab, a town 15 km south-west of Dar Al Hamma. It borders the town of Douar Sidali and Narqa, which experienced a massacre in August 1998 and October 1997 respectively. The massacre was called "the failed massacre of Douar Arab" by historians, due to its short duration and a strong opposition by the locals who fought against the terrorists with hunting rifles. The most famous is Sheikh Khalid Harjam, who trapped and killed 12 terrorists. 51 persons died during this massacre.
