Kate Griffin (July 7, 1953 - July 12, 1994) was an engineer at NNSA and was the first female to lead a space project in Nexalan (NEXA-2B, Project Bird). She was killed on Vrede Airlines Flight 1080 during a hijacking, her body was never found and is presumed dead.
