Blostlandic death metal is a death metal scene that developed in Blostland, beginning in the mid 80’s Blostlandic death metal is closely associated with melodic metal because of its use of melodic rhythms. Finding its very earlist origins in the hardcore punk and progressive rock scene it was mostly developed in the regions of Torgothland and Grönia where their noise and message would be extremely distinct. While death metal had suffered previously under Vallmoparti laws banning functionalist symbols it has recently entered a more left wing stage; thanks in large part to major bands such as RRRD and King Eoans Head who have improved the scene's image immensely.

History

Precursors

Blostlandic death metal’s founders were influenced greatly by bands in the hardcore punk and D-beat scenes with the band Värdelös becoming the primary influence for the scene as a whole establishing both the aesthetic and musical composition of future bands. In the Torgothland scene the band Dimtravare was extremely influential establishing an independent sound influenced by progressive rock, while Dimtravare was influential at the time many people now dissociate with them due to their radical political views. In Gronia the scene would be mainly developed by two bands, Killers and Four Wanted Men the sound they’d develop would be particularly long and influenced by folk music in the region.

Torgothland scene

The Torgothland scene began around 1989 with the founding of Dimtravare their first album The Animal Noises would be a big hit for them in the underground
