Hocine Barkat (April 16 1937 - April 24 2022) was a Salamati general, the 4th and last leader of the People's Salamati Resistance Front, and the leader of the 1988 Salamati Coup d'Etat attempt.

Following the demise of Jalil Al Kharrabi, he disbanded the PSRF and was named secretary of the Ministry of National Defense in April 1993, and would keep the position until December 13 1998.
