History
The history of Lokerrijk starts in the 13rd century, as part of the Carolingian Empire, under the name of Loqueriques, with capital in Brusels. It was an important economic and cultural location due to the conection with many important ports all over Europe and worldwide. In the 15th century, it was established the Kingdom of Belgia, with capital in Brusels and mostly Roman Catholic.
