Ogbei National University, also known as ONU or Ogdae, is a public research university centred in Ogbei, Ansan. The university was founded in 1871 by Gaullican colonial authorities as Sangte College. The college was founded to educate pro-Gaullican Ansene on colonial management and Euclean society. The original colonial college merged with Sawonhaggyo, the oldest and premier Cheongung monastic school, in 1950. While Sawonhaggyo dates to the 11th century CE, the founding date for Sangte College is used due as it is the start of Euclean-style standardized collegiate education.
