Finn, officially the Finn Republic, is a nation in northern America. It is bordered by Orad to the southeast. It has a coast with the Finn Sea to the northeast, the Labrador Sea to the far southeast, the Hud Strait to the southeast, the Fox Sea to the south, the Hud Sea to the far south, and the Fintoro Passage to the west.

Finn is ranked moderately in civil liberties and political freedom and has had declining levels of these, gradually moving toward authoritarian socialism. The Socialist People’s Party has held the majority in government for a number of years and has implemented laws restricting several speech and assembly related liberties. Religion liberties have also shown problems with those affiliated with humanitarianism receiving advantages over others. Political fighting and corruption is aiding in the fracturing of democratic processes.

Finn mines and refines many diamonds throughout the country and is known for manufacturing luxury products. Finn has been suffering economic decline and inequality recently, but the majority of the population has not shown disapproval, likely due to increasing propaganda. High costs of Finn products have dissuaded foreigners from purchasing many, which in turn has devalued the Finn economy.

Etymology

Finn is a shortened version of the main island's namesake, William Baffin. Originaly, the country was called Fin, however when the country discovered the country of Finlan existed, the government of Finn offered to add an extra letter n to the name of the country to differenciate between the Fin people and the country of Finn. Further proposals have been offered to change the name entirely, however none have succeeded in making it to vote.
