Orad, officially the Republic of Orad, is a nation in eastern America. It is bordered by Finn to the north, Bec to the southwest, and Zela to the south. It has a coast with the Hud Sea to the west, the Fox Sea to the far north west, the Hud Strait to the northwest, Ungava Bay to the north, the Labrador Sea to the northeast, the Atlantic Ocean to the southeast, and the Canda Gulf to the south.

Orad is ranked moderately high for civil liberties and high for political freedom. Orad has basic restrictions and supposed violations of civil liberties. There are a few restrictions on speech, mainly concerning false and damaging information, as well as high surveillance. The political environment is fairly diverse, however the majority has been held by the Conservative Party for many years.

Orad focuses mainly on oil production and technology manufacturing. Orad has experienced an economic plateau recently and does not show signs of recovering. Orad’s national debt has also skyrocketed, especially debt owed to Magarsha. Additionally, an independence movement in Ikalit has decreased the economic output of the state which is rich in valuable minerals.

Etymology

The name Orad is derived from the word Labrador, which was a province of Canada. Labrador was named after Portuguese naviagator João Fernandes Lavrador. He may have been the first European to explore the northeastern coast of America, prompting the naming of Labrador by British and French settlers.
