Erich von Rohr is an Acrean General.

Born in Stathelle, Steiermark, von Rohr was born into a family of rich military background. He is the great-grandson of General Frederik von Rohr, a celebrated Panserkommandant of the Eracuran Great War.

His division played a central role in most of the major engagements for which Acrean forces were present during the Zemplen War, including Operation Harpe, Operation Overshadow, and Operation Homefront, and he was, in part, responsible for overseeing the training of Ruvelkan tank crews being re-equipped with Acrean-made Panteras.

Von Rohr was considered an adaptable, competent commander by both his fellow Acrean officers, as well as Ruvelkan allies and Syaran adversaries. The circumstances in which ACRFR's heavy armour was deployed in most battles- opposing Syaran armour- proved very suitable for Acrean armoured doctrine. Von Rohr was known for being able to assess situations and make decisions rapidly, a trait which suited his troops well in fast-paced tactical engagements, but he has also been noted for his comparative lack of strategic experience during the war as only a regimental commander. Nonetheless, von Rohr was decorated for his role in the war, and was instrumental in turning the institutional knowledge gained through Acrean experience in the conflict into practical training in the post-war years.

Military career

Von Rohr began attending the Royal Military Academy Strasbourg in 1982. During his time at RMAS, he received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and was well-regarded academically by his professors and commanding officers. Following graduation, von Rohr was commissioned as a junior lieutenant in the 1st Battalion, 13th Armoured Regiment (13. Panserregiment) in 1986. A well-regarded officer, von Rohr was promoted frequently- he was granted the rank of senior lieutenant in 1988, taking command of his tank and achieved Captain in 1992, being granted command of the whole company. Throughout his time as a junior officer, von Rohr was known for being an aggressive tank commander and a theorist, writing several papers on armoured and tactical theory while studying for a postgraduate degree in military history from the Universität Stavern. Von Rohr was eventually promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and took command of his battalion in 1999, at the personal nomination of the former battalion commanding officer. That year, von Rohr's battalion was part of a series of joint military exercises in Ruvelka, where von Rohr was one of a number of Acrean officers invited to give lectures on armoured warfare to cadets at Derecske Military Academy. He would be invited back to Derecske to lecture throughout 2006 and 2007. Elsa Szekeres, the future Captain-General of Ruvelka, studied under von Rohr in the spring of 2007. Von Rohr was promoted to Colonel and took command of the regiment in 2004, and in 2008 he was promoted to Major General and took command of the 8th Armoured Division where he would remain as its commander until 2015.
