Matilda Class

HMGS Mastiff on patrol during the TRIDENT-led naval blockade in the Verde Sea

The Type 61 Frigate or Matilda-class is a ship class of sixteen frigates operated by the Royal Gallambrian Navy. The class was introduced to improve the Navy's independent blue-water patrol capability. Since entering service, Matilda-class frigates have made multiple deployments outside local waters, including involvement in the TRIDENT multi-national deployment to the Verde Sea, and multiple operational periods in the Adlantic, Adisi and South Oriental Oceans. All sixteen frigates remain in service. All Type 61 frigates are due to replaced with Type 32 frigates under Project SEA 2000 Phase 2 by 2034.
