Nostalta is a city located in the east of Nastanovo at the inner landed region of "Aguanorma", as well as the terminus of the Kananovo River. It is the administrative, cultural, and military capital of the country. While difficult to determine exactly where the Nostaltan metro ends and the metros of nearby cities begin, most maps show the Nostaltan metropolitan area containing over 4,700,000 inhabitants, making the city the third most populous in Nastanovo.

The city of Nostalta, originally Quecarajo, was founded in 1632 by Isabellan settlers, making it one of the oldest settlements in the region of pre-Nastan Ashintoka. Initially serving as an administrative center for Isabellan colonial interests in the Viceroyalty of Nastanovo, the city would serve as an outlet for trade and travel and to this day operates one of the largest ports in Cesylle and one of the busiest airports in the region. Nostalta also serves the unique role of being the only city in the continent to serve as the home of a foreign reigning monarch, with the city being the home of Percivia's Kings, Joaquin I, and Joaquin II and the Sovereigns of the Sovereignty of Nastanovo. It also is the seat of many Nastan organizations, businesses, and banks.

Etymology

The name "Nostalta" is a combination between the Isabellan term, "Alta", meaning high, and Nost, a undetermined term of origin describing the combining forms of the natives in the region of Ashintoka and the Isabellan colonists. Futhermore Nost is considered the original term before the terms Nastnovian or Nastan was considered of the peoples. As a whole the name translates to "High Nost", meaning the highest peak of the Nastan people would be found in their capital. The name was selected by the Sovereign of the Sovereignty of Nastanovo, Bernardo Freire, following the First Coalition Wars between Nastanovo and the Coalition of Kingdoms against Nastanovo which included Percivia which Nostalta was the original capital of.
