Francisco Ruiz de Áravo (May 12, 1536 – March 26, 1581) was a Monsan explorer and Conquistador, who led one of the first Monsan expeditions to the Scottopian Isles. He was named 1st Governor of the Island of Alameda, position he kept during four years until his return to Monsa, where he died. His expeditions were largely sponsored by the House of Giusti and the Alcantaran crown after the First Monsa-Alcantara Treaty.
