Ataru Akimoto (born June 20 1981) is an Aquitaynian politician currently serving as the Minister of State for Development and Hesperidesia since 12 December, 2021. A member of the Royalist Party, he has been the Member of Parliament for the 712th District since 2010. Akimoto also currently serves as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs after serving on the Select Committee on Intelligence and the Appropriations Committee from 2015 to 2019.
Ataru was born in Telora and attended the famous St Michael's Prepatory Academy before attending the University of Telora School of Humanities, receiving is bachelor's degree in international studies. Ataru then attended Kiernan College where he received his Masters in International Relations. Ataru began his professional career as a civil servant in the Foreign Office and served as a diplomatic attache for over ten years. After leaving the civil service to pursue business endeavors, Ataru decided to run for office during the 2014 general election. Ataru quickly became a party favorite and was almost immediately selected to be a member of the Appropriations Committee, followed by the Select Committee on Intelligence due to his prior civil service. In 2019, Prime Minister Richard Larrow named Ataru the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and was subsequently named to his current post within the Foreign Office.
