Patolia, officially the Democratic Republic of Patolia (Patolian: Republik Demokratik Patoliya), is a country in southern Evrosia. It covers an area of approximately 629,489 square miles, and has an estimated population of 276,481,474 people. The country consists of twenty-three provinces and two municipalities. The national capital and most populous city is Tonstin; other major cities include Olsindar.
Patolia is a unitary one-party state led by the Patolian National Party.

History
Prehistory
The first evidence of human settlement in Patolia dates back to 52,000 BCE.
Early kingdoms
Around 1200 BCE, early organized kingdoms emerged from the various chiefdoms throughout Patolia.
Tarul Empire
The Tarul Empire emerged in 210 BCE, after the Kingdom of Calmos, lead by the Tarul dynasty, conquered the other kingdoms of Patolia. King Arvos II of Calmos proclaimed himself Sulkantar (translated as Emperor).
The Tarul Empire lasted until 321 CE

Geography
Government and politics
Patolia is a unitary one-party state, solely governed by the Patolian National Party. The Constitution of Patolia states that Patolia is a "national democratic, indivisible, and secular" republic and that "National democracy shall be advanced by the National Party of Patolia". Patolia officially describes itself as a democracy, however the country is generally described as an authoritarian dictatorship.
The National Congress, with one thousand seats, is the unicameral legislature of Patolia under the constitution. However, the National Congress is commonly described as a rubber-stamp body. Elections to the National Congress occur every four years. Most deputies in the National Congress are elected from 150 multiple-member districts, with one hundred deputies elected from single-member districts. Both multiple-member and single-member districts use first-past-the-post voting. The National Congress is dominated by the PNP, with three minor parties having nominal representation.
The President is the head of state and is elected by the National Presidential Electoral College, which convenes every four years and is composed of electors from the provinces and municipalities. The current president is Otsavin Sfarszantac, who is also the Chairman of the Patolian National Party. The Premier is the head of government and is appointed by the President with the approval of the National Congress
Military
The Patolian National Armed Forces consists of the Army (PNA), Navy (PNN), Aerospace Force (PNASF), Strategic Force (PNSF), and National Guard (PNG). The official military budget for 2025 was 316 billion rovas (2.285 trillion Patolian Dollars).
Economy
Patolia has a developed free-market economy. Since 1969, growth rates exceeded seven percent per year, leading to a rise in living standards.

Patolia recognizes twenty-six ethnic groups. The largest ethnic group are the Tarul people, who constitute about 85.1% of the population.
