Regency

Publius' young age meant that he was unable to govern over the Empire on his own. To make up for this, a Regency Council was convened, led by his uncle Marius, and his mother, Lucilla.

Legacy

His death without an heir triggered a succession crisis within the Empire, with some advocates arguing that the crown go to his daughter, while others believed it should go to his uncle. Ultimately, the faction supporting his uncle won out, leading to Marius VIII being crowned Emperor in 1363.
