The 2019 Saterocian Revolution, also known as the Second Saterocian Revolution, was a major shift of political power within Sateroc that started after several citizens were executed for vandalizing biographies of Georg Puoc, which promoted large-scale demonstrations across Kolkesburg and other cities. The demonstrations continued for months, until Georg Puoc declared martial law in Kolkesburg on 18 March, 2019, which resulted in countless massacres of protestors by the country's armed forces, most prominently the Ancauix Park Massacre on April 2nd, which caused the deaths of over 90 protestors. On 19 May, 2019, TV stations across the country were taken over, along with the presidential palace and Puoc's residence after the military declared that a "coup was underway". Protests would end eight days later after the military and the rival Civilian Transitional Authority signed a deal which would see power handed over to a republican government.
On June 6, Saterocians held their first real elections in years, which would see ex-commander Jonrov Mornes come to power as president. Throughout the rest of summer and fall, he worked with the military to draft a new civilian government which would see the country become a semi-presidential republic, as a parliament was founded and different institutes within the government were created. However, debates still continue to this day as to how legitamate the revolution truly was, due to the fact that President Mornes has shown characteristics of authoritarianism, such as delaying elections and using force to suppress protests. A 32-year old man stated, "The revolution is not truly over until the people have power. Right now, the rich man presides over the country, therefore we must continue the fight that started in 2019..."
