Urelles Vaughn King, known professionally as SOS Insurgent(stylized $O$ Insurgent), is a Marivistan rapper. Born in Port of Carpal in Marivista, his family moved to Tregueux, Zamastan, where he attended school, and also learned to rap. He embarked on his hip hop career after temporarily returning to Marivista and joining the local hip hop collective known as SOS Group, uploading several of his songs online. One of these songs, Above, gained notable attention in December 2010 and started receiving radio airplay, and soon he signed to -LABEL-, kickstarting his official music career. In March of 2011, he released his debut mixtape, Save Our Souls, to widespread critical acclaim.
King's debut album, State of Emergency(2013), peaked at the top hundred of global music charts, and received a number of awards, seeing positive critical reception. The album was supported by it's lead single, Weekend Flow, which peaked at number six on music charts and received an award nomination for best rap song of the year. His second studio album, The Insurgent(2016), topped the charts as well, and also saw widespread critical acclaim. It's lead single, Don't Trip, was nominated for rap song of the year, as well as music video of the year. However, in 2017, he returned to Marivista permanently, which motivated him to take a more experimental approach with his third studio album, Not Far from Home(2019), which peaked within the top five of music charts in a handful of countries, however received mixed reception, with his fourth studio album slated for release sometime in 2024.
King has won a number of music awards including awards within Marivista, Zamastan, and a handful of other countries and regions. He also directs music videos, and produces records for artists under the name King Vaughn.
