The Christian Democratic Party or Pártidò pā Democratidaò Crístaoti in Olílò is a Christian democratic political party in Wallenland, founded in 1916 as a merger between the People's Party and the Northern Democratic Party. Following the end of the Wallene Civil War in July 1915, the Grand Assembly was formed and three parties made up the Grand Assembly: the Liberal Party, the People's Party, and the Northern Democratic Party. The Liberals dominated early Wallene politics, so in August 1916, the PP and the NDP merged into the Christian Democratic Party due to similar political and religious reasons. The party rivalled against the Liberals till the World War when martial law was declared in 1950 and again in 1955. Post-independence, the PDC fell into insignificance after being supplanted by the Freedom Party as Wallenland's main right-wing party. However, they have won the premiership twice in 1965 and 2004 and have made a resurgence in recent years.
