Théo Barrault (born April 15 1969) is an Avergnonian politician, lawyer, and former diplomat who has served as the President of Avergnon since 2023. He was elected to replace outgoing Franz Selleaux. Prior to entering politics, he graduated from the University of Moncrief with a law degree and later became a criminal defense lawyer. In 2002 he entered politics representing his home town of Porrenburg in parliament. In 2015, he was selected by President Lilian Auclair to serve as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. During Franz Selleaux's administration, Barrault returned to parliament, and in 2022 ran against Selleaux for the presidency, winning the popular vote by 57%. As president, Barrault has overseen several reforms to labor laws, taxation, and pensions; and has pursued a renewable energy transition. An independent politician, he is considered a centrist.
