Ranks | Ranks of Drambenburgian Bundeswher |
The Bundeswher is one of the four branches of the Wehrmacht of Drambenburg. It serves as the primary ground defense force of Drambenburg. The primary mission of the Bundeswher in the 21st century is to provide national and foreign ground occupational force in regions that the Drambenburgian armed forces are deployed. The Bundeswher is one of the world's most advanced armies. With nearly 600,000 active personel the Bundeswher is the largest of the four branches of the Wehrmacht.
The Bundeswher's origins lie with the foundation of the Imperial army in the 1670s. By the late 1870s the Kaiser saw a need for a formal, modern military which underwent professional training, instead of conscripts drafted for three month seasons only during wartime. In 1910 the length of service for conscripted soldiers increased to one year from the previous six month contracts. In 1932 the Bundeswher was moved from under the direct command of the Kaiser to the Khakus and was reorganized. In 1934, in anticipation of war, conscript contracts were increased to two years, which it has remained ever since.
The Bundeswher is under the Ministry of the Bundeswher. The head of the Bundeswher is the Kaiser, and the head of the Ministry of the Bundeswher is the civilian Minister of the Bundeswher, Fredrick Myers. The Ministry of the Bundeswher itself is a sub-ministry of the Ministry of Defense, headed jointly by the Khakus and the Kaiser. Field Marshal is the highest ranking officer in the Bundeswher.
