Nazarena Luque (November 19, 2156 - January 3, 2239) was a Carinansian politician and lawyer who served as the 32nd President of Carinansia from 2229 to 2233. A member of the Union Socialist Party, she previously also served as the Vice President of Carinansia under Ricardo Padilla from 2218 to 2225, Governor of Nova Enstel from 2202 to 2210, and a Senator for Maharlika from 2197 to 2201.

Born and raised into a middle-class family in Florepa, Maharlika, she attended the Passos Academy. After graduating from high school, she worked as a call center representative out of Chajaras for a few months. In 2175, she participated in the annual entry exams for Alvaro Serrano Paek University and was accepted on a minimal scholarship, for a Bachelor of Public Administration. After a year of study, she switched her program to pursue a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, completing the course after three years. With this degree, she applied to the State University of Voclaria, studying a Master of Liberal Arts for the next four years. Upon graduating in 2182, she began work as a journalist for the Metropolitan Morning until 2187. Upon resigning, she established an online political activism blog, decrying the conservative policies of Rodrigo Agramonte-Bitencourt, and becoming an early promoter of Ruizmo. In 2193, she led a failed campaign to try secure the Union Socialist nomination for senator. Upon the death of National Patriot senator Alvaro Quintana, she was appointed as an interim senator by Governor Hugo Zorita. In the congressional election months later, she ran for reelection and retained the position.

In her term as a National Senator, she voted inline with the Ruiz Administration on most policy proposals. Upon leaving the office in 2201, she began to establish a political presence in Nova Enstel, successfully gaining the Union Socialist nomination following the state primaries in September 2202. As governor, she expanded state welfare policies, established a policy of land redistribution, and imposed statewide rent controls amid surging house prices. She was reelected by a wide margin with 61.4% of the popular vote, opposing attempts by Melissa Moruga to use the state National Guard in the Vindication War. After leaving the office, she was initially a strong opponent of the Hurtado Administration, but later rallied around her after the outbreak of the Tecian-Azlan War. During the 2217 Union Socialist primaries, she dropped out early amid a poor debate performance, and endorsed Padilla for the presidency. After the death of his Vice President, she was appointed to serve as his successor. During her time in the position, she often undertook domestic administrative duties, as Padilla was heavily involved with the war effort. Upon the conclusion of his term, she endorsed the prominent Oscar Pliego for the presidency, as her eldest son, Raul, was killed in the conflict, and she sought time to grieve.

During the Galvez Administration, she regularly criticised his inflammatory remarks and divisive language, in turn receiving a regular onslaught of insults from the incumbent president. After she won the 2229 presidential election, he refused to concede defeat and attempted to launch a coup d'etat. During her inauguration, he broke the 208 year tradition of the outgoing president attending the incoming president, instead holding his own mock inauguration at the Galvez Estates. At the beginning of her presidency, Azlan forces detonated a barrage of EMPs across Tecia, resulting in a massive economic decline in Carinansia, marked by high inflation. Major military losses in the Koelasian and Glunos campaigns resulted in her popularity to decline. In the 2233 Carinansian Presidential election, her former Vice President ran a third party campaign, which would later be revealed to be heavily financed by Galvez and the Serene Revivalist Party. In an election marked by heavily electoral interference, Galvez managed to secure a narrow plurality of the popular vote, and she ultimately conceded the election three days later. She attended his inauguration, wishing him the best of luck as president.

In October 2234 she was arrested on charges of sedition and electoral interference, being declared guilty after a five-day long kangaroo court proceeding, when she was sentenced to life in hard labour at the recently-established Flantiva Work Camp in Haiyato. Reportedly, as she was transported to the facility, Galvez gloated at his ultimate victory, and regularly visited the camp to taunt her. During her time at the camp, she was placed on an initial diet of 1600 kilocaries per day, which later dropped to only 800. Upon her death in 2239, her bodyweight was reported as 39.3419 kilograms. Her body was discarded with hundreds of other corpses in the La Plata mountains, and remains undiscovered. Today, historians generally rank her as an average president, but post-presidential approval polls are usually very high.
