Charlie Eden was the 65th president of the United States from 1998 to 2003 and was the last New Liberals president until Keith E. Chism. Additionally, Eden was the last president before the global economic depression would hit a year into Warner's term in 2004. As a president, his approval ratings were subpar, not terrible, but also not great. Whilst Eden was the last liberal president to be elected for a decade, political experts cite that as due to increasing polarization over time, rather than due to the reputation of the party, or any of the actions Eden took while president, however, Eden was the first president in the 21st century to attempt to remove term limits from the presidency, which did not help his popularity.

Eden focused on Y2K issues for the first two years of his term, which is a continuation of what the previous president [NAME HERE] did near the end of his term. He formed the first-ever Joint Commission on Y2K Issues in Congress, which by the end of 1998 gave a long-detailed report that was published publicly in periodicals. Controversially, Eden almost banned computer usage entirely, however was convinced by his Secretary of Defense at the time to stand down. Politically, Eden had very little history in US politics, however, prior to being elected president in 1998, he was elected Federal Prosecutor General for one term and was highly successful, leveraging that to win his 1998 campaign for office.
