Ireland (Irish: Áine, Italian: Inlanda), also known as the Republic of Ineland (Poblacht na hÉineann, Repubblica d'Inlanda), is a country in occupying the island of Ineland and the Anglessian peninsula. The capital is Lyre, which is located on the eastern side of the island. Roughly a quarter of the country's population lives in the island territory, while the remaining 75% lives in the mainland. It is a federal, parliamentary republic. The legislature, the Federal Parliament, consists of a lower house, the Assembly, and an upper house, the Senate. The republic is headed by an elected President who serves as the largely ceremonial head of state, but with some important powers. The head of government is the Taoiseach (Chief Minister), who is formally proposed by the President and elected by the Assembly; the Taoiseach in turn appoints government ministers.
