The Federal Parliament of the Republic (Irish: , Italian: Parlamento Federale della Repubblica) is the bicameral legislature of Ineland, consisting of the Senate and the Assembly. Each assembly conducts legislative sessions at a separate location in Lyre: National Palace for the Senate and the Parliament House for the Assembly.

Each house has its own regulations and rules of procedure. However, they may occasionally meet as a single house for ceremonial events and to revise and amend the Constitution of Ineland at the Assembly's Parliament House venue.

Composition

The Assembly has 185 elected members, while the Senate has 75 elected members. The number of members of both houses is set by a law which establishes the exact number of members within a fork established by the constitution (151 to 251 members for the Assembly, 60 to 99 members for the Senate). Members of both houses are elected with two different methods. Members of the Assembly are elected by universal suffrage of all citizens 17 years of age and older, to fulfill a 4 year term. Senators are elected by the members of the 5 provincial/regional assemblies to a 4 year term.

Senate

The upper house of the Federal Parliament, the Senate, is a group of 75 individuals elected by each of the 5 provincial/regional parliamentary assemblies. Senators serve a 4 year term that can be renewed twice, setting their maximum term in office at 12 years. Senators may loose their condition if a motion of no confidence is passed against them at the provincial/regional parliament that elected them or through an impeachment process within the Senate that gathers the support of 3/4 of senators.

The principle underlying the Senate's composition is equality amongst Ineland's regions, with 15 seats allocated for each region (Aberland, Angleland, Costa Turchese, Ineland island and Savoiarda). The process for their election is freely set by each of the regional legislative chambers involved in the process.

Assembly

The lower house, and only directly-elected segment of the Federal Parliament, is the Assembly, with each member chosen within a list in multiple seat constituencies through the D'Hondt Method. To run for a seat in the lower house, an individual must be at least 17 years old. Each member holds office until the Assembly is dissolved, after which they may seek re-election up to a limit of 15 years in office. According to the constitution, the Assembly is composed from "between 151 and 251 members distributed between the provinces in a way proportional to their population". The Ground Law of the Assembly of 1999 set the number at 185, with a possibility of it being adapted every 5 years to reflect population distribution changes.
