Arcanstotska, officially the Arcanstotskan Republic (Obshchiy-Yazk: Аканстатская Республика, Akanstatskaya Respublika), is a country located in Northern Craviter. Covering an area of 284,000 square kilometers (109,653 sq mi) it lies between the Phoenix Sea to the west and the Auburn Sea to the northeast. It borders Malor-Kanada and Norsia to the north, Mintoria to the south, Alemriche to the southwest, and the Tusacwyan Confederacy to the east. Siloyev is the nation's capital and second largest city. Other major urban areas include Ramelensk, Kariyevgrad, Kropolym, Stavrozniki, Liyev, Sirinsk, Grestin, and Klikhov.
INSERT ANCIENT HISTORY
The classical Arcanstotskan states largely resisted the spread of Messianism, apart from the south where Courantist missionaries achieved mixed success in their efforts. By 613 the Yulija valley had been unified under the Arcanstotskan Empire, proclaimed by Fyodor I of Siloyev who took upon himself the title of Tsar. In 966 Arcanstotska was inherited by the Norsian House of Saitta, forming the Norsian-Arcanstotskan Commonwealth. 1146 saw the end of the Commonwealth and the reestablishment of an independent Arcanstotska, beginning the second imperial age.

Currently Arcanstotska is a unitary semi-presidential republic led by a President as Head of State and a Prime Minister as Head of Government. With 67.3 million inhabitants across its XX constituent provinces, it is the XXth most populous country on Craviter.
Etymology
How exactly the term Akanstatskiya came to become the name of the region has been lost to history.

Arcanstotska's military, the Arcanstotskan Armed Forces, is comprised of three primary branches; the Army (with special forces OZG), the Navy, and the Air Force. The total number of service members across the Armed Forces in 2019 totaled 1.08 million across all service branches (??? active duty, ??? in reserve). In absolute terms, Arcanstotska's military expenditure is equal to WIP billion IBU, roughly WIP% of the nation's GDP and WIP in the world. In times of peace, the Armed Forces fall under the authority of the Minister of Defense, however, in times of war, the Armed Forces instead fall under the command of the President.
The Arcanstotskan Armed Forces is a completely voluntary force in peacetime, though conscription may occur in times of war.
