Ciudad Potaxie, often referred to by its initials C.P., is the most populous city in the province of Potaxiene, and the country of Floptropica. With roughly 295,000 residents within the city limits as of 2020, Ciudad Potaxie is also the commercial, financial and cultural center of Potaxiene. Ciudad Potaxie has an oceanic climate and an ethnically and culturally diverse population, and it is the principal city of a sprawling metropolitan area, infamous for its car dependency. The majority of the city proper lies between several small hills adjacent to the Poosay Bay to the south. It covers about 88 square miles (229 km), and is the county seat of Ciudad Potaxie County, which is the second most populous county in Floptropica with an estimated 400,000 residents as of 2023.

The area that became Ciudad Potaxie was originally inhabited by the indigenous Coochie people and later claimed for Spain in the mid-1500s. The city was founded on September 4, 1791, on the village of Yass-Queen. In 1898, at the end of the Spanish–American War, Ciudad Potaxie and the rest of Floptropica became part of the United States, alongside Puerto Rico and other former Spanish territories. Ciudad Potaxie was incorporated as a city on April 2, 1821. Floptropica's growing film industry, as well as tourism, manufacturing, and agriculture, brought rapid growth to the city throughout the early 1900s. The city was further expanded with the completion of the Ciudad Potaxie Airport in 1931.

Ciudad Potaxie has a diverse economy with a broad range of industries, best known as the home of the Flopwood film industry, one of South America's largest by revenue; the city was an important site in the history of film. It also has one of the busiest container ports in Latin America. In March 2023, Ciudad Potaxie and Reginageorge Springs in Nickitea submitted a bid to host the 2030 Winter Olympics.
