The People's Republic of Eudaemonics (PRoE) is a Sovereign Island Country consisting of three islands - Soliterica, Andreia, Sophrosune. The People's Republic is relatively new, with a massive influx in population within the last 20 years, mostly due to incredibly lax immigration restrictions. The island chain is notable for their income equality, as the incomes of the poorest citizen and the richest are almost exactly the same.

Population Distribution

The People's Republic of Eudaemonics has an uneven population distribution. It's estimated 72% of the population is located on Soliterica, the largest island in the chain, with roughly 3,600,000 people both residing and working there. The smallest island in the chain, Sophrosune, only has a population of 212,960 people. Most of the population is located in larger cities along the coasts, with the more mountainous mainland regions being largely unoccupied.

Politics

The Eudaemonian government is famously socialist, consistently leaning heavily to the left since the 1948 reform. Citizens enjoy great personal freedoms and inequality has almost vanished. The private sector has been all but obliterated with the public sector being the only major source of industry. Most governmental discussion are made by council - there are three councils, one for each island. There is no technical head of state, instead citizens elect "representatives". These representatives are the face of The People's Republic of Eudaemonics internationally. They are also meant to speak for the main populace at council meetings. They are technically the highest position in the Eudaemonian government, but realistically only have marginally more power than any other council member. A representative is only brought into a council is the public overwhelming agrees that one is needed - normally only Soliterica and Andreia residents have an active representative.

On the 13th of November, 2016, The People's Republic of Eudaemonics entered into the Dokodo Union with the two remaining founding nations.

Economy

The Eudaemonian economy is a popular way for other nations to point out the flaws in Eudaemonian policies. The islands are famously poor, with the historical currency of the islands, the Eudae, having steadily dropped in value for over 40 years until the nation's official adoption of the Quasa in 2016. The destruction of the private sector has removed a great majority of foreign money coming in. The People's Republic of Eudaemonics has, in general bad trade relations with most nations outside of the Dokodo Union, and more money leaves the country than enters it. Quality of life for the average citizen is very middle of the line - their baseline wages (after taxation) covers necessities, but luxury items are almost taboo. Taxes are ridiculously high - 72% of all income for the average citizen and up to 99% for those with higher incomes. The harsh taxation does help keep wage inequality low. Money distribution is incredibly even, with very little difference between the rich and the poor. Despite only being able to afford the minimum amount of public spending, general happiness is comparatively high to other, richer, more developed countries.

Geography

The islands are incredibly difficult to reach by sea - a fact that was proved very beneficial to the natives of the islands in the past. Trying to move a large amount of troops through the rough and rocky oceans surrounding Soliterica and Andreia has historically ended with entire armies lost at sea. Despite only being a small distance away from the main land mass, the short journey is deceptively treacherous, with large, sharp jutting rocks hiding just below the surface of the waves. The water currents are also wildly unpredictable. Only someone very familiar with the area should attempt to cross it by boat, and even then extreme caution should be used. In more recent years, the formerly rather isolated islands have become easier to access due to the availability of air travel.

The islands themselves are mountainous towards the center. Lush, untouched forest covers most of the landmass, with development carefully planned as not to disturb it. The coastal regions are the Eudaemonic Islands' most iconic feature - beautiful, white sand beaches with sprawling yet ecologically conservative cities carefully located along the shoreline.
