The Goredemabwan Naval Force is the navy of Goredemabwa and part of the Goredemabwan Defence Force.

History

Establishment of the Goredemabwan Navy and fate of the Belfrasian Navy with the decline of the Belfrasian empire, the administration of the Colonial Armed Forces was passed to the newly created Myrdesian Naval Forces.

Goredemabwan People's Navy

The origins of the People's Navy began during the Myrdesia War, with the destruction of Myrdesian Navy which left the need to fully rebuild the force from scratch. The boost in spending and development by socialist allies allowed the creation of a moderate naval force.

Modern Goredemabwan Navy

The fall of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Anikatia led to a severe decline in the People's Navy and later partially led to dissolution of the People's Socialist Republic of Goredemabwa. Defense expenditures were severely reduced. Many ships were scrapped or laid up as accommodation ships at naval bases, and the building program was essentially stopped.

Current role

The Naval Force is aimed at defence of sovereignty and state interests, in peacetime, the Navy have the role of augmenting civil offshore patrol forces, particularly providing the means and the expertise to execute enforcement action effectively. Specific tasks include assisting civil forces to combat illegal immigration, smuggling and threats to the environment; conducting maritime surveillance, search and rescue; and assisting the Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism with enforcing a fisheries protection regime. A longer term peacetime task is the protection of offshore oil, gas, diamonds and other installations. A navy aerial surveillance component is a necessary part of the defence system.

Major Ships and Vessels

According to Naval reports from 2005 the fleet had 18 warships fully ready to perform complex tasks, and 1 supply vessel in working order.

However, since end of the Cold War, no submarine patrols were reported to have been conducted. In 2003 one submarine was reported sunk, and in 2006 another one was abandoned when it ran aground. The vessel was later salvaged and towed back to a naval base for repairs however had to be scrapped due to excessive hull damage. Further reports circulated about the remaining two submarines being refitted in 2012, but they have since turned out to be false. Although some analyst suspect this is may be due to the latest political turmoil in Goredemabwa. |----- | Tufan-class | Template:Country data Ankar | Attack Submarine | 1 | Small diesel-electric submarine class intended for anti-shipping and anti-submarine operations in relatively shallow waters. |----- ! style="align: center; background: lavender;" colspan="7" | Minesweepers, Landing Ships, Patrol Boats, Auxiliary Combat Ships |----- | Nakbantol-class |  DSRA | Minesweeper | 4 | These vessel make up the primary ocean minesweeping role within the Goredemabwan Naval Force. |----- | Type 21 | File:Flag of Rodarion.png Rodarion | Patrol Boat | 8 | Primary multipurpose patrol vessels able to perform a range of coastal defense duties, including various border protection, anti-piracy, and rescue operation roles. |----- | Kabtanka-class | Template:Country data Goredemabwa | Inshore Patrol Boat | 10 | Primary inshore patrol vessels able to perform a range of coastal defense duties, including border protection roles, anti-smuggling, anti-piracy, fisheries patrols, and immigration law enforcement. |----- ! style="align: center; background: lavender;" colspan="7" | Auxiliary Ships, Support Ships, Non-Combat Ships |- | Namsaeng-class |  DSRA | Replenishment Oiler | 1 | The primary mission is to provide logistical support during day-to-day operations, expeditionary forces and for humanitarian and disaster relief operations. |----- |}
