Intercity Night is a category of overnight trains operated by the Radictistani state rail operator, Royal Radictistan Railways. They are the only sleeping car-equipped trains in Radictistan. Two sections operate nightly between the cities of Hartfer and Wussrhas, one northbound and one southbound. The service is popular both with leisure travelers and businessmen.

Route

From Hartfer the Intercity Night route heads south via the Nuxenstat-Hartfer Main Line to Nuxenstat then along the Nuxenstat-Wussrhas Main Line all the way to Wussrhas on the southern tip of the country. The entire route is electrified at 15 kV.

Rolling stock

A usual consist has twelve to fourteen cars pulled by one or two electric locomotives. Immediately after the locomotive is the checked baggage car followed usually by a combination baggage/couchette car used by train staff. Further behind are three Premium sleeper cars, the lounge and dining cars, then five to seven couchette cars. A mail car is often added to the end of the consist.

Onboard service

Intercity Night trains feature a high level of onboard service. Each consist has a dining car with full sit-down service and a bar/lounge car which is for Premium passengers only. Complimentary wireless internet is available in all passenger areas.

Accommodations

The Intercity Night service offers two types of accommodations. Economy passengers are each provided with a berth in one of the couchette cars. Each couchette is equipped with six berths. The bottom four convert to seating for daytime use. A shower, wash basin, and toilet facilities are available at the end of each car. Only berths are reserved; passengers travelling alone or in small groups will be required to share a compartment with other passengers of the same sex. A free cold breakfast is included with each Economy ticket. This is delivered by the car attendant to each compartment.

The sleeper cars are used by Premium passengers. Each sleeper compartment has two beds, one of which converts to daytime seating, and a small table plus an en-suite washbasin, toilet, and shower. All meals are included within the price of the Premium fare. Premium passengers can opt to either take breakfast in their compartment or the dining car.
