James II (Savolian:Ιάκωβος Αλέξανδρος Λάσκαρις: c. 24 July 1842 - 11 August 1885), known as the Great, was king of Castria from 1842 till his death in 1885. He was the eldest son of Duke Alexandros and Princess Beatrice. He was the nephew of King Nuño, and cousin of King Andreu, through which he made his claim to the throne. Born in Savolia, James II used his relation to the Castrian throne to claim it, launching the War of the Castrian Succession, in which he was initially defeated, and took refuge in Palia. There, he began a concerted effort to rebuild his power base and forge new alliances.
