Jews have inhabited the lands of modern Venadia since at least the 11th century, primarily Belavenadia and the south. Jews make up a significant minority in modern Venadia, being the majority of the Jewish Volost and minority populations exist in Belavenadia, Proylopol Volost, Khandagrad and Venagorod. In the 2015 census, 3.3% stated they identified as jews religiously and 1.6% stated they identified as jews ethnically. The majority of the individuals who identified as religious jews but not ethnic jews stated their ethnicity as White Venadian, Somer German or Venadian. The estimated number of individuals of jewish descent in Venadia range from 4% to 7%.

Venadian Jews have a long and complicated history in Venadia, with the Venadian government periodically protecting or oppressing them. Anti-semitism among the people have also waxed and waned historically, and the late 20th and 21st century have so far been absolute lows as far as anti-semitism goes. Some notable deeds of anti-semitism in Venadia include the Massacre of Boriskovsk in 1455, wherein the majority of the city's Jewry were slain by a rioting mob, and the anti-Jewish pogroms undertaken by the Venadian state in the late 18th and early 19th century.
